Beginner to Advanced Learn & Cruise Sailing Courses.
Come and learn how to skipper a larger sailing yacht in open and coastal waters.
Before we head out on the cruising section of the course we take advantage of our base facilities to learn and brush up on technical boat handling before heading out and putting it all into practice in this amazing cruising playground.
All of the pleasure sail and power courses we run accredited by International Yacht Training Worldwide (IYT). These certifications are recognised by 25 governments (including Transport Canada) and many more charter companies around the world.
We use 40 to 50 foot yachts with a maximum of 4 students to one instructor for all our certified courses.
Courses listed are suitable for beginners, intermediate students and advanced level (Yachtmaster Courses) but can sometimes be run together to allow us to maximise our cruising time and area.
While you can book the crew training and International Bare Boat Skipper courses directly on our website from Feb 1 you will need to email and apply to take our Yachtmaster training and exams. Email us for more details on these advanced courses or to book prior to the courses going live online on Feb 1.
Courses run from April through to October and can be booked as individuals or as a group.
Our instructors are commercially endorsed (200GT) professional yachtsmen and women and have tens of thousands of sea miles gained as offshore racers, yacht delivery skippers, charter skippers and of course instructors. With each instructor needing at least 5 years yacht teaching experience and over 10000 sea miles (5000 being coastal) before they can work for us you know you’ll be in good hands.
Some information from the IYT website relating to the level and scope of training involved with each course is below but please contact us with any questions you may have at -

All of these course/cruises have a commercially certified Yachtmaster Instructor onboard at all times; so if it's skippering experience; advancing your qualifications; building sea miles toward you next level of certification or just going on a fun sailing cruise, you know you'll be in safe hands.
Ideal for those who have some qualifications or experience but want to go out and push their limits or have guidance in putting all the theory into practice.
All of these cruises are by sailing area, from a beginner style Georgia Strait mileage builder to a stunningly beautiful and taxing around Vancouver Island trip.

Around Vancouver Island Courses are aboard our 50 foot yacht and spaces are limited.
Prerequisite requirements - Over 18 with some sailing experience.
